Pet owners bring their canine friends to the Baltimore Animal Recreation Center located here to have fun and run around without a leash. There are two enclosed areas (1.5 acres and 0.75 acres), each with a water fountain for dogs.
- Historic buildings: The Montrose Mansion and Chapel were built in the 19th century as part of a country estate. The mansion was developed in three stages and shows distinctive characteristics of neo-classical and Second Empire architecture. St. Michael’s Church is an Episcopal church that was constructed in 1853. This church has a board-and-batten frame structure and a simple bell-gable.
- Camp Fretterd Military Reservation: This facility is one of Maryland’s four military bases. It covers 27 acres and is where the Maryland Army National Guard’s recruits are trained. The Maryland State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) is also located here.
